Downtown Sioux Falls Trolley Illustration

This poster was created for Design Sioux Falls, an art show hosted by Exposure Gallery & Studios. The show took place in 2015, featuring 13 local graphic designers, each of whom drew a Sioux Falls topic at random and had one month to complete a design based on that topic.

I drew the Sioux Falls Trolley, a long-time Sioux Falls icon. I chose to illustrate the trolley next to some of Sioux Falls' most iconic old buildings, in order to emphasize its history and importance.

In 2021, I submitted this design to be featured on utility box wraps in Downtown Sioux Falls. My design was selected and lives outside of Sioux Falls’ City Hall. This Bloomberg Philanthropies video does a great job summarizing the Downtown Sioux Falls Utility Box Wrap Project and features my trolley illustration among many other featured box wraps downtown. It was exciting to breathe new life into this illustration seven years after its creation.
